Peter Shankman is an inspirational being in marketing, service and social media.Today at Blogworld New York, he shared his take on success, and it didn’t revolve around social media, it revolved around character, hard work and values. Social Media is the vessel, not THE answer.

I’ve followed Peter Shankman for some time, and one of the most wonderful things about him is that what he shares is always human and true. He puts it on the table, not sugar coating or “selling”. He also delivers value, strong business advice and insight. Unfortunately I’m only headed to Blogworld now, and have missed some of the awesome presentations, only getting in later, but @Josepf was at Blogworld today, and let me know he’d just met him for a brief chat. It made me think about a post he wrote a while back, a touching and personal one, and if you haven’t seen it, you should check it out: What’s your “Fate Worse Than Death?”. (My response to that post, which sites some of the reasons for my admiration for Peter, is in the comments) @Josepf, was live tweeting his session today, so like many others like me, who I am sure wish they had been there, I was glad to follow along in the tweets.
