With the #140Conference Montreal scheduled for May we threw a meetup reception on November 30th to invite Montrealer’s, friends of #140conf and all those interested in learning about what the conference is about to come out and meet us.

Jeff Pulver, #140conf Founder and curator, graciously flew in from New York . J.C. Little, award nominated Montreal Director and Animator (@LittleAnimation) and Erica Diamond, Author, Speaker and Entrepreneur (@WomenontheFence) rearranged their schedules so they could be there, Debra Cincioni, President of Moms of America (@MomsofAmerica) headed up from D.C. and a flurry of awesome Montrealer’s as well as friends from Toronto and Ottawa jumped on the Eventbrite Invite to confirm they would join us at the Intercontinental Montreal, a venue chosen for their ability to represent the true flavors of Montreal in their setting.

Guests were greeted by #140conf volunteers @SuperThalia and @Sharon_Hy from #teamogilvy at the registration table. Josepf Haslam @Josepf helped with on-site logistics & set-up for me (thank you!). Absinthe Cocktails were served to all as they entered the Art Gallery for a brief mixer preceding the #140Conf presentation by Jeff. The evening was off to an amazing start.

As hostess, I was really pleased to see our great turnout. I was glad to have the chance to meet so many in person and welcome friends, new and old.

I am bringing #140Conf to Montreal to share the power of using social media to inspire, communicate and drive change with our city – but also to share our city and culture with all those who will present, attend and participate.

As an introduction to Montreal as the location for #140Conf in May, I asked Monica Orr, director of marketing and “visionary” for the @ICMontreal to give us an overview on the tie in of the hotel to our rich Montreal culture and history.

I then introduced Jeff Pulver, globally renowned thought leader, author and entrepreneur and Founder/Curator of #140 Conference worldwide. In his genuine and charming way, Jeff shared with us his vision of the #140Conference and some of his experiences and stories.

The #140Conf explores how in today’s environment, every voice matters, if you want to reach someone, you now can – you just have to try. If you have something you want to say, say it and it will be heard, heard by anyone you want to reach, and then potentially even amplified.

Jeff’s U.S. Airforce Story

The #140Conf Montreal will seek to explore this further as we invite speakers to share their views on what is happening, share their stories and together “explore the state of now”
